Get to Know: Stokke High Chair Lineup

Today we are going to take a deep dive into the Stokke high chair lineup, the Tripp Trapp, the Stokke Nomi, the Stokke Steps and the Stokke Clikk.

The Tripp Trapp High Chair

In 1972, Norwegian industrial designer Peter Opsvik, best known for his innovative and ergonomic chairs created the award winning Tripp Trapp high chair for his son. The first of its kind for families, prioritizing both the physical and mental development of children.

Opsvik vision for the Tripp Trapp was to allow babies to sit at the table close to the parents, allowing them to learn and develop alongside their families. We’ll continue to see the trend of encouraging babies to engage in meal times and the importance of eating together throughout the lineup of chairs from Stokke.

The Tripp Trapp provides excellent ergonomics and comfort from birth, until adulthood. The high chair is independently adjustable with both their seat and foot-plate, to find the perfect seating position with knees at 90 degrees, which encourages active sitting and can aid in digestion. The Tripp Trapp high chair is suitable from 6 months (once a baby can sit unassisted) until adulthood (with the ability to hold a 300 lbs adult.)

The Tripp Trapp is available in countless neutral shades as well as beautiful bright colours ensuring it will fit your home’s aesthetic and personality. There are also a handful of thoughtful accessories like trays, cushions, and storage available to fit perfectly with the chair and ease mealtime struggles at any stage. The most popular accessory is the newborn set, which allows for the Tripp Trapp to be used from birth, and keeps the baby close to you during meal times.

Opsvik spent 40 years tinkering with the design while staying true to the principles of active and ergonomic seating, with a ‘grow with you’ mentality. The drastic simplification and lighter weight ensures that this investment is well worth it. With a tool-free adjustable seat and footplates, the Nomi high chair ensures that your baby is comfortable as they grow into adulthood, and can hold over 300 lbs.

A fixture in any home, the Stokke Nomi High Chair is beautiful, functional, and lightweight making it easy to move around your home.
