Its OK, sort of what I expectedThe gate is very nice looking and easy to install. Truthfully I thought for the high price that the plexi would have been much heavier and sturdy. It seems a bit flimsy to me. I am using it to separate animals, so its ok but not sure how I would feel if my child was leaning on it. A rating for looks, D rating for strength and quality.

Perfect gate if you have a perfect houseThis is the perfect gate if you have a perfectly level and square house that is new construction. Yes it is beautiful and we love the look of it, but installing it took hours and a lot of creativity on our part.
We live in an older home and have a mixture of lathe and plaster walls and drywall, so finding a stud is a challenge. Even using our stud finder and pre-drilling holes to check, we had trouble getting a solid and strong base to mount the sides of the gate to. And considering the force needed to open the gate (by lifting the gate), I'm nervous these gates won't hold. Our house and walls are also not perfectly square or level and using the spacers included with the gate are a challenge and required removing the gate frame many times to get the right combination of spacers for a level and square fit. A perfectly square opening is important because of the way to the gate extends to fit the opening and in order to re-tighten the bolts once you extend the gate.... which on BOTH gates we bought, there is a faulty bolt that spins and spins and never tightens to resistance.
We've managed to make these gates work but with many many holes in our walls and to be honest, I'm still not confident the mounts will hold and withstand daily wear and tear.Posted on

Beautiful AND Functional!I get so many compliments on this gate! Every time someone comes over, they ask where it's from. We have had this gate for over a year now and have had absolutely no issues. The lock indicator is very convenient, showing green when it is locked and red when it is unlocked. So aesthetically pleasing and so safe - love it! Worth every penny!

One of the safest gates & aesthetically pleasing!We had purchased several baby gates prior to landing on the Crystal Designer gate. The other gates we purchased either broke or our son figured out how to open them. We've now had the Crystal Designer gate for 3+ months and LOVE IT. It's sturdy, with a double lock clamp, and our son hasn't figured it out. It is also very aesthetically pleasing in our home. If you're looking for a gate, this one is worth the investment!

Great looking and so sturdy!I got this when my older son was little and we still us it and love it. I love that my 4.5 year old can't open it because he can't leave it open and let my younger son access the stairs. We get so many compliments on it too...it looks so different than all the other baby gates out there. Highly recommend!

Beautiful and sturdyIt was quite easy to install once we got the baseboard adapters for our 6” baseboards. We had to mount at a slight angle since the studs didn’t match up at the top of our stairs but it was very easy to adjust to the angle. We have a bi level house so this is at the entry to our house and we get a ton of compliments on it. I love that I can see my guests clearly through it as they enter the house.
